About Us

Academic Connections is a student organization created with the ultimate goal of decreasing the achievement gap and providing equal opportunities to communities. We were aware of the number of students who would benefit from attending MCPS magnet high schools but lacked information, resources, and help. We aim at providing that bridge for families by providing resources, tutoring, and information to middle school-aged kids to better prepare them for magnet/IB high school programs. Founded by current high school magnet students, who have gone through the process themselves, we are passionate about improving our community and helping those we can
